Ab routines - do pushups to get great abs

When most people think of ab routines, they think of crunches, bicycle maneuvers, situps. In other words, they think of exercises that directly work out their abs.

Of course, you’ll never get six pack abs until you burn off your stomach fat. Therefore, a lot of programs recommend running and other aerobic exercises to burn calories and thus burn fat. The trouble is, aerobic exercise alone doesn’t work for everybody.

Therefore, many people advise dieting to lose those extra pounds. Of course, diets are hard to follow for the long term, so many people often burn fat, only to put the pounds right back on when they abandon the diet.

But perhaps the best way to burn fat without drastic dietary changes or endless hours on the treadmill is to put on some muscle. By starting a muscle-building routine, you speed up your metabolism and start burning that fat.

One of the easiest ways to start building muscle is to begin doing pushups regularly. The video below, produced by a sports doctor, shows you just how he performs pushups and pullups at home to avoid injurry while building muscle.

Note how he mixes up the reps of each exercise to ensure that he reaches muscular failure. This video is a great example of how you can get a thorough workout at home, without even investing in expensive equipment.
